University of Saint Joseph Announces Two-Year M.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis
Open Houses Available June 14 or July 14
West Hartford, CT (06/13/2022) — The University of Saint Joseph has announced that starting this fall, students will be able to enroll for an M.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) as a two-year program, giving an option between that or the existing 3-year program. The difference is that the 3-year program offers a comprehensive Practicum at Gengras Center School that the 2-year program does not. The University has also reduced the 2-year ABA Graduate Certificate program to a 1.5-year program. Those interested in learning more about USJ's 2-year ABA program are encouraged to attend one of the open houses being held this summer: June 14, 7 p.m., or July 14, 7 p.m.
USJ's Applied Behavior Analysis program is well-regarded. Associate Professor of Counseling and Applied Behavioral Studies and ABA Program Director, Laura Turner said, "We train students to be highly skilled and compassionate behavior analysts who are experts in applying the basic principles of behavior to help those in need. We want them to be leaders, collaborators, and independent problem solvers, as well as to understand and value the importance of evidence-based practice."
Applied Behavioral Analysis involves applying behavior principles to everyday life for individuals, society, and culture. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts ABA therapists will experience more than 20% job growth by 2029.
What might one do with an ABA degree? The University of Cincinnati has identified five trending ABA careers:
Board-certified behavior analyst
School district behavior analyst
Clinical supervisor

University Professor
Elemy, the nationwide provider of childhood behavioral and mental healthcare, reports further that the field has been expanding since 2010.
