University of Saint Joseph Assistant Professor Elected President of the Connecticut Association for Counselor Education and Supervision
Avon Resident Jessica Motroni Banik Serves Others
West Hartford, CT (10/18/2022) — Avon, CT resident, University of Saint Joseph Assistant Professor of Counseling and Applied Behavioral Studies Jessica Motroni Banik, Ph.D., LMFT has been elected to serve as President of the Connecticut Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (CACES) for the year 2022-2023. She was previously elected as President Elect for the 2021-2022 year and assumed her new role July 1, 2022.
"I joined CACES as a member when I moved to CT in 2017 to get connected to the Counselor Educators in the state," Professor Banik explained. "That is where I heard about USJ when I met a faculty member in my first meeting. I stayed connected to the organization and reached out when they were looking for leadership positions." When asked how her work with CACES would benefit USJ students, she said, "I've always tried to continue involvement in professional organizations as they have been vital to my success, and I like to bring how they have helped my professional identity to the classroom and to the students at USJ."
