USJ President Accepts New England Board of Higher Education Excellence Award
West Hartford, CT (09/23/2022) — University of Saint Joseph President Rhona Free, Chair of the Connecticut Conference of Independent Colleges, and Co-chair of the Connecticut Presidents' Council accepted the New England Board of Higher Education Excellence Award along with Terrence Cheng President of the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) on September 22, 2022.
The Presidents' Council is an organizing body that brings together the leaders of both independent and public colleges and universities from across the state to provide a platform for discussion, information sharing and collaboration.
Since its inception, the Connecticut Presidents' Council has collectively advocated for need-based financial aid funding at the state and federal level; worked collaboratively throughout the pandemic to promote safe and healthy campuses; and launched a series of working groups focused on supporting Connecticut's pandemic recovery that yielded a number of statewide initiatives and broad engagement in various economic and workforce development initiatives.
